To be a purpose driven leader, we must never lose sight of the purpose and plan God has for our lives. We have to become deliberate and intentional in decision-making. Be careful of doing what the late Dr. Dorothy Irene Height, the Godmother of the Civil Right’s Movement, always said, don’t “major in minors,”…”major in majors.” Its the enemies job to try to make us think some things are more important than others, when they actually aren’t. This is why we must prioritize and categorize things in our lives, and focus on the top three things that are important to complete when we become overwhelmed. And, we must encourage ourselves in the Lord whom we live, move and abide that we can do all things through Him. The Honorable Alexis M. Herman, 23rd U.S. Secretary of Labor and a mighty trail blazer in the Lord, says “a ready mind CONSCIOUSLY acknowledges the plan by planing ahead, but living in the moment.” Don’t waste time on things you can’t fix, but pray, asking Jesus to give you the love and strength you need to fix the things you can and move ahead.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
“Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart, All you who hope in the LORD.”
