Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, “freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed.” When you’ve been HELD back; SHUT up; PRESSED down; told you COULDN’T and WOULDN’T make it; LAUGHED at; made to believe you couldn’t SURVIVE on your own; and, MANIPULATED with lies and truths twisted for advantageous benefits to suit the INADEQUACIES and INSECURITES of another over and over again…you become exhausted by the endless barrage of attempts to bring you down…and, one day the WILL to overcome supersedes the PAIN and you find strength to break free by the Spirit of the Lord…and, no more are you bound by what oppressed you. Nothing or no one can stop the burning desire deep within your heart to SUCCEED, not to prove them wrong…but, to WIN your race for God who redeemed you by the Blood of His Son from the enemy’s abyss. And, you PICK UP your cross, claiming your inheritance to run your race with grace, being CONFIDENT with Jesus…that nothing you face can stop you.
“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.”
II Corinthians 4:7-10
“But you, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded!” And when Asa heard these words and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and removed the abominable idols from all the land of Judah and Benjamin and from the cities which he had taken in the mountains of Ephraim; and he restored the altar of the LORD that was before the vestibule of the LORD.”
II Chronicles 15:7-8
